Roy Hutchison
I have been growing and styling bonsai for over 30 years. My early influences came from Harry Tomlinson, John Naka and the Bonsai Today magazine.
Over the years I have attended many workshops and residential weekends where I have had the opportunity to work and learn with some of the best bonsai artists in the UK and Europe.
I have been Chairman of North Devon Bonsai Society for many years, that is a focal point for anyone wanting to learn more.
I am a regular on the UK bonsai scene and host workshops and do demonstrations around the country.

From the day I was first gifted a DIY-store Chinese Elm, bonsai took root in my life and rapidly grew into my greatest creative passion. Twenty-five years on that tree is still thriving alongside a forest of other bonsai projects. In regional exhibitions I had some early recognition for my work with Larch and I'm now focussing on developing my Pines and Beeches to a similar standard.
I continue to actively seek knowledge and skills from the best online tutorials and from my friends in the North Devon Bonsai Society. I have a background in coaching and I bring those skills to my demonstrations, demystifying the process and encouraging and empowering people to take their first steps into the world of Bonsai.
